![]() Throughout the book, I kept waiting to find this one person, even thinking that they will be the one to drag Lydia out of her grief. Now, let me just say, this person does not exist. On Goodreads, the description of this book has this one line that goes: Because there is someone in her new life, her real life, who wants her to stay (in the waking world). I have many issues with this book, but let’s start with the first. Lydia must face the truth and come to terms with the fact that maybe travelling to the other world to see Freddie is doing more harm than good. However, as time progresses, an emotional turmoil wears Lydia down as she continues to travel between her waking world and sleeping world. She constantly seeks this other world, pulled back time and time again by her living husband that continues to occupy her heart. Overcome by grief, she is prescribed with sleeping pills that allow her to visit another world where Freddie is alive and well. ![]() Lydia Bird turns 28 the day her fiancé Freddie dies from a car accident. ![]() ![]() Well, to summarise my feelings for this book into one line: I wish I DNFed it. ![]()
